The Florida Highway Patrol says a 52-year old pedestrian was struck and killed on Nine Mile Road late Wednesday night. Troopers say Ricky  Polk of Saucier, Mississippi, was walking west on Nine Mile Road near Cove Avenue when he was struck by a pickup driven by 56-year old Marlon Shelton of Cantonment. Polk was pronounced dead at the scene. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
