CHAPPIE JAMES MUSEUM 1-12-17

Yesterday was the groundbreaking for the General Daniel “Chappie” James Museum and Flight Academy. James – a Pensacola native and our nation’s first African-American four-star general – fought in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was highly decorated, receiving the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit and the Distinguished Flying Cross. General James pinned on his fourth star in 1975. The museum will be located at the site of his home on Martin Luther King Boulevard.
