CHARTER BOAT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING

A 50-foot charter boat on a fishing trip in the Gulf was struck by lightning about 14 miles south of Destin. Captain Bud Miller said the boat lost all power and they were too far out for cell phones. He said deckhand Nick Bulger managed to get one engine started and they headed back to Destin. While they were traveling home they were struck again. Luckily there were no injuries and they continued back to Destin. Miller said all the electronics will have to be replaced as well as a generator. Miller said in 20 years of fishing this was the first time a vessel he was on has been struck by lightning.
