The owner of the company selected to operate the Pensacola’s new ferry service says that service will not begin until at least June 22nd. George Aswad, owner of Gulf Coast Maritime, said his company is in the process of signing contracts with the National Park Service and should be able to announce ticket prices and service schedules in the coming days. The city of Pensacola announced Tuesday that construction of its ferry dock at the Commendencia Slip at the Port of Pensacola has been completed. The National Park Service and Escambia County have said their docks will be ready when service starts from downtown Pensacola to Pensacola Beach and to Fort Pickens on Gulf Islands National Seashore.
