SCHOOL LOCKDOWN SUSPECT IDENTIFIED

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect the man who caused Tate High School to go into lockdown Tuesday afternoon. Deputies responded to a call of a person with a firearm near the school. Responding deputies said 34-year-old James Jordan, Jr., ran and hid under a mobile before being taken into custody. He was booked into the Escambia County Jail on charges of obstruction of justice, resisting arrest without violence and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. There was no mention of a weapon being found.
