GULF POWER RATE REDUCTION

Gulf Power Company has announced it will seek a 9.6 million-dollar rate reduction. The company plans to file two requests with the Florida Public Service Commission that reflects the remaining tax savings the power utility received from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as well as reduced fuel, conservation and environmental costs. If the proposed changes are approved the average Gulf Power customer using 1,100 kilowatt-hours per month can expect to see a drop of about $2.70 on their monthly electricity bill.
