STATE ROAD TO BE RENAMED FOR SENATOR EVERS

A portion of State Road 4 will be named after former state Senator Greg Evers, who died last year in a single-vehicle traffic crash. Signs will be placed at both ends of State Road 4 between Munson Highway and State Road 189 in Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties designating that portion as “Senator Greg Evers Memorial Highway.” Evers was 62 when he died on August 22nd, 2017, when he lost control of his pickup truck and went off a bridge on Griffith Mill Road, and into a roadside creek about a mile and a half from his farm in Baker. Evers served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2001to 2010 and in the Florida Senate from 2010 to 2016.
