FLORIDA DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

What is going to happen with Daylight Savings Time in Florida? You may remember the Florida Legislature overwhelmingly passed the “Sunshine Protection Act” making the Sunshine State the only state to adopt Daylight Savings Time year-round. Governor Rick Scott signed the bill into law, but Washington has to also pass a law to make the change official. Senator Marco Rubio has introduced the bill and it’s in the Commerce Committee where it has been read multiple times, but there have been no votes. However, if it doesn’t pass by the midterm elections in November, the bill will need to be re-introduced into Congress next year. Only Alaska and Arizona do not observe Daylight Savings Time.
