Gulf Power is preparing for Hurricane Michael. 500 line and tree-trimming workers are available through Southern Company and more than 1,700 people will be ready to go to work to restore power to customers. The company urges customers to charge cell phones, have plenty of water on hand and food stocks and heed any warnings by officials. Customers should be prepared to be without power for hours up to a couple of days depending on the severity of the storm. The free Gulf Power app is available to keep updated on power outages and restoration times.
