HURRICANE MICHAEL

Kenneth Graham, director of the National Hurricane Center said Hurricane Michael had sustained winds near 155 mph, just 2 mph below Category 5 as it made landfall near Panama City yesterday. It was the most powerful hurricane to hit the Florida Panhandle since record-keeping began in the 19th century. So far, one death has been linked to the storm. The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office said a man died when a tree fell through the roof of his house in the town of Greensboro. Florida Governor Rick Scott said trucks loaded with tons of critical supplies – including 1.5 million Meals Ready-to-Eat and 1 million gallons of water – were on the way to assist those impacted by the storm.
