POWER OUTAGES

Gulf Power spokesperson Jeff Rogers said customers in the high impact areas could be without power for weeks. To assist in restoration efforts, more than 2,600 outside resources have been secured from at least 15 different states, as far north as Michigan and as far west as Oklahoma and Texas. Including Gulf Power’s 1,187 employees and 330 onsite contractors. Over 600 power company vehicles from across the country were staging at the Fairgrounds here in Pensacola yesterday, waiting to help restore power in areas affected by Hurricane Michael. About 2,500 Escambia County residents were without power yesterday. However, of the company’s 104,000 customers in Bay County, where Hurricane Michael made landfall, more than 95,000 were without power.
