NURSING HOME GENERATOR LAW

A law requiring long-term care providers like nursing homes to have generators and a 72-hour supply of fuel on-site may be re-examined by the in-coming administration of Governor-elect Ron DeSantis. Lieutenant Governor-elect Jeanette Nuñez told The News Service of Florida that a large numbers of nursing homes and assisted living facilities are unable to meet deadlines for the new mandates to go into effect and the timelines should be examined to see if they were reasonable and realistic. The deadline is June 1st, but only 27 percent of the 668 licensed facilities in Florida have fully complied with the new law.
