KEEP THE WREATH GREEN

The second and third red bulbs have been placed on the “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety wreath in Escambia County. The first came after the first red bulb fire that destroyed a mobile home in Century.  The second and third happened on Monday – a structure fire in the 700 block of North 77th Avenue and a multi-residential structure fire in the 700 block of Tumbleweed Trail. During the month-long Keep the Wreath Green campaign, five-foot wreaths are displayed at 18 county fire stations and five city fire stations, and other government buildings.  Each time firefighters respond to a residential fire with damage, a green light bulb is replaced with a red one to remind citizens of the dangers posed by fires in residential home.
