PROPOSED CITY ORDINANCE

Pensacola City Councilwoman Ann Hill is sponsoring an ordinance that would add a notification requirement before any buildings are demolished in the city and would require anyone seeking a demolition permit to notify all property owners within a 300-foot radius of the building to be demolished. It would also add a review process for buildings older than 60 years to determine if they are historically significant with a waiting period if the building was historically significant. The City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at City Hall.
