DEPUTIES SHOOT DOG

Two Escambia County deputies shot and killed a dog that attacked them yesterday. The deputies were attempting to make an arrest at a home in the 2100 block of Deerwood Road after being dispatched on a disturbance call when 34-year-old Cairo Jones, and a 15-year-old girl who lives there, released the dog, which attacked the deputies. Jones was booked into the Escambia County Jail on charges that include aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, battery, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.
