FORMER PROBATION OFFICER ARRESTED

The State Attorney’s Office says a former Florida Department of probation officer has been arrested on multiple corruption charges.  Rea Sweatt, who resigned in March, was a senior probation and community control officer and is accused of failing to properly supervise 14 felony offenders in Okaloosa County and falsifying required weekly supervision records, then telling them to lie if anyone contacted them about their supervision. She is charged with racketeering, tampering with witnesses, forgery, uttering forged instruments, official misconduct and making false official statements.
