The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been arrested after  a hit-and-run incident yesterday morning. 54-year old Edward Thornburg fled from the scene and law enforcement officers pursued him from from Destin to Fort Walton Beach along Highway 98 after he refused to stop for deputies. Thornburg hit several cars and Okaloosa County Sheriff’s patrol vehicles before being stopped near First Street and Florida Blanca Place in Fort Walton Beach. He was booked into the Okaloosa County Jail on a variety of charges including hit and run,  fleeing and eluding with injury or damage, driving under the influence, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer as well as a several drug charges.
