The Bay County Commission has approved a certificate of public convenience and necessity for new ambulance company that will soon be operating in Bay County. First 2 Aid EMS, based in Osceola County, will bring 28 employees and three ambulances to the area. They will fill a void created when Century Ambulance left the county in December due to the costs associated with hurricane recovery and the loss of employees. The county’s Emergency Service ambulances normally  respond only to 911 calls while private ambulance providers respond to other medical calls and hospital transfers. First 2 Aid has also been in talks with air ambulance providers and would offer the service if they get approval from the county.
