U.S. SENATE DISASTER RELIEF BILL

The U.S. Senate has passed a 19 billion dollar disaster relief package to cover damage from hurricanes, midwestern states deluged with springtime floods, and fire-ravaged rural California. A spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the chamber will try to pass the bill by a voice vote on Friday and President Donald Trump has said he will sign it, even though the package does not contain the money he wanted to address migrants at the border. The bill contains 1.2 billion dollars to rebuild Tyndall Air Force Base and 600 million dollars in disaster recovery funding for Puerto Rico.
