Walton County Fire Rescue says an elderly person died in a house fire in   Mossy Head Wednesday afternoon. Fire fighters responded to the scene just before 4 p.m. after a neighbor called 911 to report a structure fire with a resident still inside and after firefighters extinguished the flames, a body was found. The victim’s identity has not been released and the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
