The land containing Sylvania Heights’ only park will be leased by Okaloosa County for at least another year. Okaloosa County Commissioners approved extending the fee-free lease until January 31st, 2021. Commissioners also agreed to spend up to $15,000 to improve the park, which has been closed since May 24th but is expected to reopen by mid-July. The park repairs will include upgrades to the basketball court and the playground surface.
