After 36 years in business one of Pensacola’s iconic seafood restaurants is closing. Sam Camariotes (“Cam-Ree-Otis”), the owner of Sam’s Seafood Steak and Spirits at “A” and Main Street, is retiring and June 29th is the restaurant’s last day. The 67-year-old owner agreed to a buyout deal with J.W. Renfroe Pecan Company, a family-owned business in Pensacola, which plans to open a gift shop at the location. Camariotes said Sam’s catering business will continue operations despite the restaurant’s closure.
