PILOT OF CRASHED PLANE ID’d

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office says the name of the pilot of the small plane, which crashed on a sand bar in the Escambia River yesterday, has been released. 26-year old Scott Nee, from Woodbury Minnesota, was alone in the single-engine Cessna 172, and was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital by a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter as a trauma alert. The plane was located by the Jay Fire Department and Lifeguard ambulance personnel after deploying their boat on the Escambia River. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
