The Navy says there was a close call this week at the Blue Angels practice when two planes made contact. Spokesperson Lieutenant Michelle Tucker said the team was performing the Diamond 360 maneuver when the canopy of Blue Angels number 3 and the wing of Blue Angel’s number 1 touched during the maneuver and the practice was terminated. The only damage was a scratch on the canopy and no injuries resulted. The Blue Angels are scheduled to perform in Chicago this weekend and an alternate aircraft will be used.
