ESCAMBIA SCHOOL BOARD VOTE

The Escambia County School District Board has decided not to require a super majority vote to remove an appointed superintendent without cause. Board members agreed at a workshop last week to delete a provision from a proposed policy that would have required a super majority vote of four of the five board members to fire a superintendent without cause. The board will take up the issue again when it writes the contract for the next superintendent in 2020, who will be appointed instead of elected.
