ANIMAL CRUELTY ARREST

Chief Assistant State Attorney Bill Bishop says an Air Force man has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty. Anthony Ward was supposed to care for dogs while the owner was out of town. Someone reported that the dogs were being left unattended for lengthy periods and notified PAWS, the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society, which removed the animals. However, one was in such bad condition, it had to be put euthanized. Ward was booked into the Okaloosa County Jail on felony animal cruelty charges and is being held without bond pending a mental health evaluation.
