The Crestview Police Department said Northwood Elementary/ Richbourg School and Bob Sikes Elementary, were placed on precautionary lockdown after reports were received of a man shooting a gun in the wooded area at the end of Panama Drive. Responding officers  got a description of the person and a short time later a deputy tried to stop a man on a bike who matched the description of the suspect doing the shooting, but he fled. He was later found and detained, but was not the man who had been shooting. However, he did have an active warrant and was arrested.
