An Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputy was shot Wednesday afternoon while responding to a call in the 400 block of Limerick Lane off of Chemstrand Road yesterday afternoon.  Around 1:30 p.m., deputies were responding to a call about a suicide threat and the suspect – identified as 41-year-old Daniel Hux – opened fired on the deputies, who returned fire. One deputy was shot 4 times and was hospitalized as was the suspect who was also shot multiple times. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said the deputy is expected to make a full recovery. The investigation is continuing.
