WOUNDED CONVENIENCE STORE CLERK IDENTIFIED

The Pensacola Police Department has identified the clerk who was shot in a robbery Wednesday night at a Dollar General store. It happened at the store at “G” and Garden Streets just before 7 p.m. when two men wearing masks entered the store and robbed the female clerk – identified as 44-year-old Yashita Mackey – then shot her in the chest. Department spokesman Officer Mike Wood said she is expected to survive. The suspects are described as two tall black males, one of whom may have been wearing a blue shirt. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Pensacola Police Department or to make an anonymous report by calling Crime Stoppers at 433-STOP.
