Escambia County commissioners have delayed their decision on whether to issue a permit for a new recycling center Wedgewood until citizens can learn more about the proposed facility’s impact on their community. The company – Eager Beaver, LLC – wants to build a recycling center for vegetation and yard debris and commissioners were scheduled to vote on the permitting issue during last night’s meeting. Instead, commissioners instead decided to delay their vote after numerous citizens said that weren’t notified about the plans for the recycling center. Commissioner Lumon May asked Eager Beaver representatives to sit down with Wedgewood residents and discuss the impact of the projects before it was brought before the board again.
