The U.S. Coast Guard had to assist a man on a boat near Destin after he was stung by a lionfish late Monday afternoon. The Coast Guard responded to a call for assistance around 5:30 p.m. about a person aboard a boat who suffered an allergic reaction to the lionfish sting. A 45-foot Response Boat from Destin took the victim to emergency medical services at the Destin station. The patient was reported to be in stable condition.
