CHURCH DESTROYED BY FIRE 10-11-16

The fire that destroyed a Century church early Sunday morning is under investigation as a possible arson. Neighbors reported hearing an explosion at the Wesley Chapel Church on Jefferson Avenue and then seeing it engulfed in flames. The building was completely destroyed, but no injuries were reported. The church building has been empty since it was damaged in last year’s tornado. The building reportedly had no utility service and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.
