Two burglary suspects are in custody after a North Escambia County woman came home yesterday and found one of them inside her home.

It happened about 8:20 a.m., when she returned home to find Vernon Lambeth standing in the hallway. The woman ran to her vehicle as Lambeth fled from the house. She followed him to a wooded area where he was eventually apprehended by a K-9 team from the Century Correctional Institution. Lambeth was booked into the Escambia County Jail on a $100,000 bond. His accomplice, 51-year old Curtis Capers, was arrested by Escambia County Alabama sheriff’s deputies and is being held in the Escambia County, Alabama, Detention Center in Brewton.

He was charged with a narcotics violation and is expected to be extradited back to Florida to face additional charges.
