Escambia County is officially in a drought. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, most of the area is in a moderate drought, but a small area along the state line, including Flomaton and Brewton, is in a severe drought. And the dry conditions are likely to continue since there is no rain in the forecast for the foreseeable future.
