The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the red snapper season will stay open in the Gulf of Mexico for an extra seven days this month. Those days are Saturday and Sunday November 5th and 6th – Friday and Saturday, November 11th and 12th – and Friday, Saturday and Sunday November 25th, 26th and 27th. The extension includes the Veteran’s Day holiday and Thanksgiving weekend. Governor Rick Scott requested the extension to offset the economic impacts of Hurricane Hermine which hit the Gulf in early September.
