Someone fired shots at Escambia County deputies who were trying to serve a warrant in Cantonment yesterday. It happened around 10:30am in the 900 block of Booker Street when someone in a silver Dodge Charger or a black Chevrolet Impala drove by and shot at them. Deputies were attempting to serve felony warrants on Jeffrey Purifoy for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No deputies were injured. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan asked the citizens of Cantonment to provide any information on Purifoy’s whereabouts by contacting the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department or by calling Crime Stoppers at 433-STOP.
