The Pensacola City Council is being asked to approve a 15-million-dollar loan to improve and expand Pensacola Energy’s natural gas lines. Pensacola Energy Director Don Suarez says 11-million dollars will go towards replacing many of the older cast iron gas mains and lines with polyethylene lines. Some of the gas lines are more than a 100 years old, but Suarez said they are still good for a few more years. The council is expected to look at the proposal tomorrow.
