A 27-year-old man has been convicted of second degree murder for a shooting that happened in the parking lot of the boat ramp near Graffiti Bridge close to 17^th Avenue and Bayfront Parkway. Kenneth Knight Jr. was charged with shooting Dustin Burns on June 20^th of 2015 after they argued. Burns returned to his car, drove up to Knight who was in his truck, and fired four to six times. Burns suffered a single, fatal gunshot wound in the chest. Judge Scott Duncan swill sentence Knight on December 13^th. Knight faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years in state prison and a maximum of life.
