DEPUTY SHOOTS AT SUSPECT 12-21-16

A suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon after pulling a gun on an Escambia County sheriff’s deputy. It happened near “W” Street and Truman Avenue around 3:30 p.m. when a deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle, but the driver would not stop. The unidentified driver wrecked his vehicle a short time later and the driver got out and pointed a gun at the deputy who shot at, but did not hit, the suspect. The suspect then threw the gun down, lay on the ground and complied with the deputy’s orders. He was arrested and taken to the Escambia County Jail.
