A man collecting donations for the Salvation Army has been arrested on theft charges. John Thames was a Bell Ringer at the Gulf Breeze Walmart when a woman stopped to make a donation. As she placed money into the kettle she accidentally dropped her wallet as she walked away. When she discovered the wallet was missing she contacted store security and they reviewed surveillance video which showed Thames pocketing the cash and throwing the wallet away. Thames was arrested and charged with larceny.
