DEPUTY-INVOLVED SHOOTING 1-2-17

An Escambia County deputy shot and killed a man involved in a home invasion early Friday morning. It happened around 1 a.m. at a house on Talladega Trail off Mobile Highway. The suspect – identified as Daniel Daily – and a homeowner exchanged gunfire and the homeowner was wounded. When deputies arrived on scene, the Daily pointed a gun at the deputies and was shot and fatally wounded.  The incident is under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which is standard procedure in deputy-involved shootings.
