KEEP THE WREATH GREEN 1-2-17

A residential fire in the 1000 block of South Fairfield Drive on Friday caused the 12th red bulb to be illuminated on the “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety wreath. County Fire-Rescue crews arrived to find a fire in a single-wide mobile home. The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported, but the home was a total loss. The “Keep the Wreath Green” fire safety campaign is a collaborative program with the city of Pensacola Fire Department to promote fire safety during the month of December. Five-foot wreaths are displayed at 18 county fire stations and five city fire stations, and each time firefighters respond to a residential fire, a green light bulb is replaced with a red one to remind citizens of the dangers posed by fires during the holiday season.
