An apparent hit and run traffic crash involving a utility pole in Century in North Escambia County knocked out power to about 800 Gulf Power customers. A vehicle hit the power pole at North Century Boulevard and Hatties Boulevard, causing a power line to fall across Highway 29 and damaging additional poles. North Century Boulevard was closed for an hour while crews worked to repair the damage. The incident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
