TRAFFIC FATAL CHARGES 1-19-17

A Pensacola man has been charged with causing a hit-and-run that killed a 78-year-old woman. The Florida Highway Patrol say it happened at Blount and North P streets last Friday, January 13th. Troopers say 23-year-old Michael Daniel was fleeing from officers when he ran a stop sign and hit another vehicle, then hit four pedestrians who were standing in a yard. He fled the scene but was later caught. The driver of the vehicle Daniel hit, Alma Hardy, was taken to Baptist Hospital where she died two days later. Daniel is charged with reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license causing death, fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers, and leaving the scene of a crash without rendering aid. He’s being held in the Escambia County Jail on a $188,000 bond.
