Yesterday afternoon Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan and State Attorney Bill Eddins held a news conference to discuss the on-going manhunt for murder suspect Billy Boyette and Mary Rice, the woman believed to be traveling with him. Boyette is wanted for two murders in Milton and one in Baldwin County, Alabama, as well as the home invasion and shooting of a woman in West Escambia County yesterday morning. 28-year-old Kayla Crocker is in critical condition after Boyette shot her and took her car, said to be a white, 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt with Florida tag 961-3BJ. The car may have damage to the right passenger door damage and a skull and cross-bone sticker on the back window. Rice is said to have dyed her hair orange. State Attorney Bill Eddins said she is now wanted for being an accessory after the fact. Sheriff Morgan said everyone should be cautious and remain vigilant in their daily activities and immediately report any suspicious people.
