HIT AND RUN DRIVER ARRESTED 2-15-17

Florida Highway Patrol says a 26-year-old Cantonment man has been arrested for a hit and run traffic crash last year. Troopers said on May 31st, 2016, Colby Myrick was northbound on Wegner Avenue in his pickup when he failed to stop at a yield sign at Mintz Lane and collided with a car driven by 71-year old Elizabeth Harris of Cantonment. Harris and her six-year old passenger suffered minor injuries and Myrick fled the scene. Two weeks later the truck was found on Well Line Road and positively identified as the vehicle involved in the crash. Now Myrick has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, reckless driving with injuries, and driving while license expired. He was booked into the Escambia County Jail on a $23,000 bond.
