ALABAMA PRISON EMPLOYEE CHARGED 2-17-17

An employee at the Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore, Alabama, has been arrested for attempting to smuggle illegal contraband into the prison. An Alabama Department Of Corrections drug dog alerted on a vehicle owned by 64-year-old Curtis Andrews, of Mobile. Investigators detained Andrews, and found he was carrying 179 grams of synthetic marijuana and methamphetamine. Andrews, who manages the facility’s canteen, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband, and was booked into the Escambia County, Alabama, Jail.
