A Pensacola man was arrested early Wednesday morning after being involved in a hit-and-run traffic crash with an Escambia County Sheriff’s Deputy. Major Andrew Hobbs said Malcolm Louis collided with a Sheriff’s Department vehicle in the area of Tampico Boulevard around 1 a.m. Wednesday, then left the scene in his car. The deputy involved in the crash suffered minor injuries. Louis abandoned the car a short time later and fled on foot, but was quickly arrested. Cocaine and marijuana were found in the car and Louis also faces charges of possession of a weapon, driving with a suspended license and hit and run.
