Twelve members of the Gulf Shores High School Marching Band were injured after a 73-year-old driver ran into them as they waited to march in the Mardi Gras parade in Gulf Shores yesterday about 10am. Gulf Shores Police say Larry Rathburn was driving the vehicle that suddenly accelerated striking the band members. Six of the victims are high school students and six are middle school students. Rathburn, a retired anesthesiologist, is the president of the Baldwin County chapter of the Military Officers Association of America.
