BEACH CROSSOVERS BEING REPLACED 3-8-17

The old boardwalk crossovers on Pensacola Beach are being replaced with new crossovers intended to keep people off fragile sand dunes. The 1.1 million-dollar project – scheduled to be completed by midsummer – will replace 11 of the crossovers, from Park West on Fort Pickens Road through Park East on Via de Luna, east of Portofino. The work is being  funded through lease fees paid by island residents and business owners. The work should be finished by June.
